For the BJJ practitioner
Your own training memory
Everything below works from your very first session, whether or not your academy uses MyBJJLog. Your log belongs to you.
Quick Log is the core of MyBJJLog. Designed for post-class capture before the session fades from memory, it lets you record the date, duration, gym, training type, and what you worked on — all in a single, focused flow that takes less than a minute.
- Choose from Training, Drilling, Rolling, Open Mat, or Competition session types
- Record what you worked on in your own words — no taxonomy required upfront
- Optional Deep Recap mode for detailed notes, specific moves, and rolling partners
- Drafts auto-save so a failed connection never loses your entry
- Optimized for one-handed mobile use right after class
Your complete training record, always at hand. Session History shows every logged session in a clean, scannable list — sortable and filterable so you can find exactly what you're looking for, whether it's last Tuesday's class or every no-gi session this year.
- Filter by date range, session type, gym, or technique tags
- Tap any session to view full details, notes, and technique items
- Edit or delete any session you've logged
- Imported sessions appear seamlessly alongside new logs
Forget about rigid dropdowns. Just type what you trained in your own words. Our smart taxonomy engine automatically maps your entries to standard BJJ positions, moves, and techniques. It learns variations and aliases, keeping your data clean without slowing you down.
- Type naturally using your gym's terminology or language
- Auto-maps text to a global BJJ taxonomy of positions and moves
- Handles spelling variations and common aliases automatically
- Unrecognized terms are saved as raw text so you never lose data
- Admins curate the global dictionary to improve matching for everyone
BJJ progress is a marathon measured milestone by milestone. The Progress timeline lets you record every belt promotion and stripe with authentic belt graphics, personalized avatar states, and detailed phase summaries showing your exact mat hours and calendar days at each rank.
- Log belt promotions and stripe milestones with dates, notes, and custom avatars
- Visual timeline rendering traditional belt graphics and stripe configurations
- Phase summaries calculate elapsed calendar time and total mat hours per rank
- Milestones connect directly with training analytics for phase-by-phase volume insights
Gain deep clarity into your training habits with a complete analytics suite. Track key performance indicators, analyze attendance patterns with interactive trendlines, monitor belt progression scatter plots, and explore your Gi/No-Gi and technique distribution with flexible Chart and List views.
- High-level KPIs: Total Mat Time, Total Sessions, Years/Months Experience, and Training Rate vs All-Time Average
- Attendance charts (Daily, Weekly, Monthly) with interactive trendlines (Moving Average, Linear, Exponential, Cumulative)
- Progression scatter plots tracking mat hours and calendar days between belt milestones
- Training distribution breakdown across Gi vs. No-Gi, Top Positions, Moves, and Skills
- Interactive Chart View and List View toggles with direct drill-down into source sessions

- Track your global rank by total sessions logged
- Filter by Gi and No-Gi preferences
- Completely opt-in — hide your profile at any time in Settings
- Celebrate milestones together with a community of dedicated practitioners
Set up the app to match who you are on the mats. Manage your personal details, language, and theme preferences. Your data stays private — only you can access your sessions.

- Set My Academy — pick a registered gym to unlock its Gym tab, or just type your academy name
- Personalize your profile with an avatar, academy name, and dual nationalities
- Choose your preferred language (fully localized in English and Portuguese)
- Switch between light mode, dark mode, or follow system preference
- Secure authentication with Google Sign-In or email and password — your data remains private and isolated
Already tracking your training somewhere else? Import your existing BJJ Logbook history during onboarding and pick up right where you left off. The importer previews every record, lets you review and edit ambiguous entries inline, and preserves your original data.
- Guided import flow available during onboarding or any time from the Import page
- Preview parsed records before accepting the import, and edit any row inline
- Review and resolve ambiguous or unrecognized entries
- Training at a GymDesk academy? A guided export walks you through pulling your full attendance history into a CSV the importer reads
- Original source data is always preserved and inspectable
- Imported sessions appear in Session History and Dashboards immediately
For the BJJ gym
Your academy, on the same mat
When your academy is registered, a Gym tab appears for its members. Coaches log each class once, students confirm attendance in a tap, and owners run the roster themselves.
Set a registered academy as your gym and a Gym tab appears in your navigation. It opens on your academy's profile — logo, website, and the coaching staff with their current belts — followed by a leaderboard scoped to your own gym. Owners and coaches see the same page plus the management tabs their role unlocks.
- Gym profile with logo, website, and a coach list showing each coach's belt and stripes
- Gym-only leaderboard with a one-tap toggle between My gym and Everyone
- A role badge shows whether you're viewing as Owner, Coach, or Member
- Students join by picking their academy in Settings — no invite codes to chase
- The Gym tab only appears for people who actually belong to a registered academy
Coaches and owners record each class as it happens: date, program, class type, Gi or No-Gi, duration, and the positions, moves, and technique types covered. Technique fields draw on the same taxonomy as personal logs, so what a coach teaches lines up with what students train.
- Capture date, program, class type, Gi / No-Gi / Mixed, and duration in one form
- Tag positions, moves, and technique types from the shared BJJ taxonomy — or type your own
- Full class history with pagination and filters for date range, class type, program, and Gi/No-Gi
- Edit or delete any class, and see how many students have confirmed attendance
- Classes can't be dated in the future, so the academy's history stays trustworthy
When a coach logs a class at your academy, it appears as a prompt on your home screen. Confirming writes a complete training session into your own log, pre-filled with the class's duration, Gi/No-Gi, and techniques. Wasn't there that day? Dismiss it and nothing is recorded.
- Home-screen prompt lists recent classes at your gym awaiting your confirmation
- One tap creates a full training session with the class's duration, Gi/No-Gi, and techniques
- Add your own comment or extra moves right after confirming
- Dismiss classes you didn't attend — nothing is ever logged without your say-so
- Missed the prompt? Confirm retroactively from the academy's full class history
Gym owners manage their academy from inside the app, without going through support. Promote trusted students to coach, remove members who have moved on, and keep the program list current so every coach logs classes against consistent names.
- Grant and revoke the Coach role for any member, straight from the roster
- Searchable roster showing every member's belt, stripes, and join date
- Remove members who have left the academy
- Maintain the gym's program list so coaches pick from a consistent set of names
- The Admin tab is owner-only — coaches keep class logging without roster access
